Invoicing Process Using Operating

Use the Invoicing tab to manage your billing process across any invoicing frequency (monthly, bi-weekly, or custom). The goal is to ensure all due invoices in the current billing cycle are sent.

Invoice Categories

Operating groups invoices into two tabs:

  • To Be Invoiced
Drafts, upcoming invoices, and those ready to be sent.

  • Sent Invoices
Invoices that have been marked as sent (manual action).

Invoicing Workflow

  1. Ensure Projects Have an Invoicing Schedule
Under “Projects without invoicing schedule”, define a billing cycle for each project:

    • Options include monthly, bi-weekly, or custom frequencies.

  2. Generate Invoices for the Current Cycle
In “Projects to be invoiced in [Current Period]”:

    • The invoice will appear in “Invoices ready to be sent” when you’ve created the invoice.

  3. Send and Mark Invoices as Sent
In “Invoices ready to be sent”:

    • Export the invoice as PDF (or via API).

    • Send it using your preferred finance tool or via email.

    • Then, mark it as sent to move it to the Sent Invoices tab.

Your Goal

Clear all invoices in the current invoicing period.
When “Projects to be invoiced in [Period]” is empty, you know all due invoices have been handled.
