Import people and skills from Flowcase

Overview

The Flowcase integration of Operating imports people and skills from Flowcase into Operating.

Installation

  1. Create an API key in Flowcase under Settings > API Keys.

    1. The access level of the API key must be either read-only administrator or administrator.

  2. Go to https://use.operating.app/settings/integrations and choose Flowcase

  3. Fill in the connection details:

    1. Flowcase tenant domain should be this_part.flowcase.com of the domain you use to login to Flowcase. Do not include .flowcase.com as a part of this.

    2. API Key should be the API key you just created in step 1.

    3. Translation language code should be the lowercase language code of the language in which all your skills are stored in Flowcase. If you use only English, this is most likely int (for international). If you use, e.g., Norwegian or Swedish, this would be no or se, respectively. See the troubleshooting section for identifying the correct code if you are unsure which one to use.

  4. After connecting, press Begin import. This will take a while as we fetch the information from Flowcase.

  5. Once fetching is complete, you will have the opportunity to map imported people to existing ones in Operating or create new ones from them.

Troubleshooting

Importing doesn’t import any people

Verify that the API key has at least read-only administrator access.

Verify that the translation language code is correct and that your skills are translated into that language. You can check the correct translation language code using the following steps:

  1. Go to your Flowcase CV Name dashboard and download a report from there

  2. Select the report type Data in the CVs and the section Skills overview and download the report.

  3. Open the report in, e.g., Excel and look at the column with the header name starting with Skill name. The correct translation language code is the lowercase code in brackets after the skill name. If there are multiple skill name columns, use the language of the one you want to import into Operating.Key functionality

Importing people

The integration imports all people from your Flowcase account who have at least one skill.

Importing skills

The integration imports all skills that people have in your Flowcase account, along with their skill categories.
