A Project is the central container for a piece of work — it holds the people planned on it, the time tracked, and the Budgets and Expenses.

Three types: Client (billable), Internal (non-billable), Time off (the system project for leave).

It carries: a billing type, the plan (Positions and Allocations), actuals (Time entries), financials (Budgets, Expenses), and metadata (owner, dates, Status, optional: Site/Company/Groups/Tags). Type and billing type together determine how revenue and cost are calculated.

Project can consist of phases, and you can create invoices that are connected to one or multiple projects at once.
